Panther by Peter McGann for the Retro Remakes competition 2006.

Original game (c)1986 Mastertronic and Sculptured Software.

Instructions:

Use the keyboard cursor keys or a joystick/pad to move ship.

(controls as in the original)

'Up' will move the ship down and slow scrolling rate
'Down' will move the ship up and speed-up scrolling rate

'Space/Enter or Joystick/pad fire' will fire a single missile. Only when the missile is out-of-screen or explodes can another one be fired.

(On the main options/title screen)

Use up/down to select a menu option and space/enter/fire to change it.

On the main options screen, any changes you make (not including resolution) will be temporary for the duration of the game until you quit, unless you select 'Apply Settings' which will store your settings.

For resolution changes, the 'Apply Settings' button will reload all gfx at the new resolution.

Tips:

The ship must land near a teleport before droids will move toward it for collection. There are five droids per teleport.

To land on an oil platform, fly the ship close to the helipad section and it will land automatically.

In the radar zone, keep the ship low and avoid the buildings. Flying above radar will play a warning sound and missiles will home in on your ship.

If the game stutters or plays slowly, try changing the 'Graphic Effects' option to 'Low' to reduce the particle effects.

Good Luck...
